Countdown Begins for the Second Annual ICA International Half-Marathon
The Indian Cultural Association (ICA) will host the second annual ICA International Half-Marathon on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, which saw over 1,400 participants from 20 countries, this year’s event aims further to strengthen the bond of the global running community. Looking to bring together a larger community of local and international runners in a shared spirit of health, unity, and community participation.
The standard rate registrations are now open and will close on November 30, 2025, and then move to the late registrations category, with increased fees commencing from December 01st to December 13th, 2025. The standard entry fees are as follows: Family Run (5KM): Rs. 2,500; Challengers Run (10KM): Rs. 3,500; Half-Marathon (21KM): Rs. 6,000. All registered participants will receive a medal, a T-shirt from Carnage, and a certificate endorsed by the Indian High Commission and Indian Cultural Association, along with supporting organisations.
The ICA International Half-Marathon will feature a total prize pool of LKR 5,700,000 (approximately USD 18,550) with the overall winner receiving Rs. 1,000,000 (approximately USD 3,280). Cash awards will be presented to the top ten male and female finishers in each race category. These prizes aim to recognise performance and promote participation among both local and international athletes.
The ICA’s goal is to establish the event as a fixture on Sri Lanka’s annual sporting calendar, and to attract fitness enthusiasts, families, and visitors to experience Colombo’s scenic routes and cultural vibrancy through this event sport. Captain Anirban Banerjee, President of the ICA, speaking of the event, said, “At the ICA International Half-Marathon, our focus is to create an event that benefits both participants and the host community. This initiative supports health and fitness while also encouraging cross-cultural understanding and lasting friendships. Once again this year, we will be distributing the ICA self-pledging organ donation card to motivate participants to donate their organs, thereby contributing to the well-being of the larger community.” Don’t miss out on the opportunity to secure your spot in one of Sri Lanka’s premier running events.
