வீதி பாதுகாப்பு விழிப்புணர்வுத் திட்டம் 2025
இலங்கையில் அதிகரித்து வரும் வீதி விபத்துகளைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் நோக்கில், “வாகனப் பரிசோதனை உயிர்களைக் காக்கும்” (Vehicle Testing Can Save Lives) என்ற விசேட விழிப்புணர்வு செயற்திட்டத்தை சிலோன் வாகனச் சங்கம் (AA Ceylon) ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது.
சர்வதேச வாகனச் சம்மேளனம் (FIA) மற்றும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் ‘வீதிப் பாதுகாப்புக்கான தசாப்த கால நடவடிக்கை’ (Decade of Action for Road Safety) ஆகியவற்றுடன் இணைந்து இந்தத் திட்டம் முன்னெடுக்கப்படுகிறது.
இலங்கையில் தற்போது 8 மில்லியனுக்கும் அதிகமான வாகனங்கள் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. எனினும், இவற்றில் 20 சதவீதத்திற்கும் குறைவான கனரக வாகனங்கள் மாத்திரமே கட்டாய வாகனத் தகுதிப் பரிசோதனைக்கு (Roadworthiness Test) உட்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.
