அதேநேரம், கடந்த ஆண்டு டெங்கு நோயினால் 26 பேர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளதாக தேசிய டெங்கு கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பிரிவின் சமூக நிபுணர் வைத்தியர் பிரஷீலா சமரவீர குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
இதேவேளை, கடந்த ஆண்டு சுமார் 51,438 டெங்கு நோயாளர்கள் பதிவாகியுள்ளனர்.
அவர்களில் அதிக எண்ணிக்கையிலானோர் மேல் மாகாணத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
