Margo and Rakbo Win Access Group’s Monthly Medal at the Royal Colombo Golf Club
October 16, 2025: The Access Group sponsored the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) October Monthly Medal held on October 10th and 11th, 2025. The event brought together over 290 golfers for two days of competitive play, fellowship, and celebration of the sport. Access Group has committed to sponsoring the RCGC Monthly Medal for 2024, 2025, and 2026, reaffirming its support for the golfing community and its focus on community engagement through sport.
This year’s Monthly Medal showcased strong performances across all divisions. Rakbo Perera was crowned the Overall Winner in the Men’s Category with 59 Nett, while Margo Sellayah claimed the Overall Winner in the Ladies’ Category with 65 Nett.
In Division A, Husni Uwise was the Gross Winner with a total of 69 Gross, and Riahn Pieris claimed the Nett Winner title with 66 Nett. The Nett Runner Up was Arvind Fernando with 67 Nett. In Division B, Chulaka Amarasinghe was the Gross Winner with a total of 79 Gross and Rohith Fonseka claimed the Nett Winner title with 68 Nett. The Nett Runner Up was Rohan de Silva with 69Nett B/B9. In Division C Rakbo Perera was the gross winner with a total of 83 Gross. He also claimed the Nett winner title with 59 Nett. The Nett Runner Up was Darshana Maralanda with 62 Nett.



In the Masters Division, Hiranya Gunasekera secured the Nett Winner title with 67 Nett B/B. The Gross winner was Bandula Weerasinghe with 74 Gross. The Nett Runner Up was T. Sundaralingam with 67 Nett. The winner of the Senior Division was Sunimal Salgadu with 66 Nett. With Kumar Boralessa claiming the gross title with 80 Gross. The Nett Runner Up was James Matthews with 70 Nett. In the Ladies Silver Division, Danushi Senadhira took the Gross Winner title with 81 Gross B/B 9, while Tiru Jesudasan won the Nett Winner title with 73 Nett B/B 9. The Nett Runner Up was Danushi Senadhira with 73 Nett. Ladies Bronze Division Thiumi Gunasekera claimed both the Nett and Gross titles with scores of 67 and 94, respectively. The Nett Runner Up was Dinoo de Mel with 68 Nett B/B9.
Ladies Senior Division, Margo Sellayah claimed both the Nett and Gross titles with scores of 65 and 96, respectively. The Nett Runner Up was Cathey Twrenbold with 75 Nett.
In the Junior Division, Thejas Kanth claimed the Gross title with 77 Gross, and Sanjul de Silva won the Nett title with 67 Nett. The Nett Runner Up was Sehan Herath with 69 Nett.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony at the Clubhouse, where golfers and members gathered to recognise the winners and enjoy an evening of camaraderie. A donation of LKR 250,000 was presented to the Caddie Trust Foundation by Shamal Perera, Managing Director of Access International, on behalf of the Group. The donation, sponsored by Access Eco Electric (Pvt) Ltd., reflects Access Group’s ongoing contribution to the Club and its community.




The Group’s decision to sponsor the event arises from its belief that sports play a crucial role in promoting discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities that closely align with Access Group’s corporate culture. Speaking at the event, Shamal Perera stated, “We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Royal Colombo Golf Club for the second year. The Monthly Medal celebrates the spirit of golf and unites the community.
